This popular traditional Japanese komatsuna hybrid has glossy, thick dark green leaves and an upright growing habit. Summer Fest is an extra early komatsuna that is resistant to heat. It is especially suited for summer crop and high tolerance to multiple diseases. Tolerant to Downy Mildew and White Rust. Highly recommended for summer production.

- Maturity: Approx. 21 days in summer, 50-70 days in winter
- Planting season: Late spring-early summer or late summer-early fall

Cultivation: Prefers mild and cool temperatures. Prepare fertile, well drained soil. Sow seeds in late spring/early summer after last frost or late summer/early fall. Avoid hot summer planting for best results. Sow seeds every 2 weeks for continuous harvest. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Harvest leaves and young stems when plant is about 8" tall. (Summer Fest is recommended from March to October sowing. It may be suitable if the temperatures are similar, in the winter, as in sub-tropic areas but, it is not considered an all year round variety in general.
