Sesame
Sesame is fairly easy to grow in a hot, tropical climate and produces tan, black, red or white seeds that are delicious roasted and added to stir-fries, dressings, soups, and rice and noodle dishes. The seeds can also be crushed to extract oil or used to make Tahini. In Korea, the leaves, which are packed with vitamins, are eaten as well. Mature plants can reach 2 to 3 feet tall and are handsome, with pink or white flowers.
