Poha Berry
A popular fruit berry in Hawaii, the fuzzy-leaved Poha Berry bush produces about a 1" sweet/tart berry with smooth, waxy orange skin. The berries are often made into a delicious jam that is a perfect glaze for pork. They are also a treat in salads with seared sea scallops and couscous. This vining plant typically grows to about 2 to 3 feet, but supported it can reach up to 6 feet. The bell shaped yellow flowers and heart shaped large leaves give the Poha Berry a romantic tropical appearance.
