Mirai® bicolor super-sweet hybrid corn has exceptional Mirai® quality for roadside and shipping. The corn is tender with good snap and excellent flavor with sweetness. The ears grow a large 8" in length and have superb tip fill. Moderately resistance to Rust Reg, Rust D and North Corn Blight and has resistance to Rust G and Stewart’s bacterial wilt.
IT’S A NEW CLASS OF SWEET CORN! Supersweet types (SH2) have high sugar for shipping but are tough and do not have good corn flavor. Sugar Extenders types (SE) are very tender and have good flavor but are not sweet and sugary. Types (SU) have old-time sweet corn flavor but are not tender or sweet. Combining these 3 types of sweet corn give Mirai customers their truly unique, one-of-a-kind “Mirai Experience” of the best taste, flavor and texture available in sweet corn today. Mirai will hold its quality for 10-14 days when kept in refrigeration in the husk.
In the development of Mirai there has been NO genetic modification or biotechnology traits applied. Mirai has been created through natural selection.
This is an SH2-type (supersweet type) and should not be planted next to SU (sugary) or Se (sugary extended). Isolation is at least 50 feet from all except SH2. Do not use Accent herbicide. As of 4/23/2012 Mirai® bicolor corn is available in treated seed.

Cultivation: This variety requires careful seed bed preparation, warm soil, adequate moisture and careful placement. The seed will not tolerate cold soil, crusting or deep planting. It is light and requires experimentation with planter plates. Plant multiple rows rather than one long row for pollination purposes. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Sow seeds in spring/summer after last frost (60°F minimum soil temperature). Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Harvest 21-24 days after silking and hand harvest only, MIRAI® has extremely tender kernels. Succession plant when first planting peaks soil.
