Also known as Vietnamese Mint or Vietnamese Balm, Kinh Gioi delivers a fresh and delicious lemony flavor. Its botanical name is Elsholtzia ciliata. Plants grow to about 20” with many branches and bright green serrated leaves. This productive variety thrives in a sunny and warm area, either in an open field or a container. A versatile herb, Kinh Gioi commonly accompanies fish or chicken dishes, but it is also at home in a salad or soup. The leaves can be boiled to make tea, as well. Sow seeds in late spring to early summer.
