Nicknamed avocado squash because of its appearance, this squash hybrid produces oval fruit with thin, light green skin and white flesh that is similar to that of the West’s zucchini.
The squash are ready to harvest as soon as 8 days after flowering, and ripe
fruits measure about 4” in diameter and 5” or 6” in length. Fruits weigh approximately 400 grams. The Cucurbita moschata vine-type plant is a vigorous grower. Early Bulam delivers great flavor — much better than zucchini, say its loyal fans. Enjoy this versatile squash as a freshly sliced
snack, sauté it, add it to a stir-fry, even grate it for zucchini bread! It is available only in treated seed.
