New Red Fire is a Prized Head dark red leaf lettuce. Commercial growers like this lettuce for its uniformity, color and excellent resistance to bolting and to disease. The market-quality large, loose heads are greenish at the base and dark red at the ruffled leaf edges. It is suitable both for cool and warm conditions and retains its crisp fresh flavor through the growing season. Harvest Red Fire summer to fall. Sow seeds in spring or late summer every 10-14 days for staggering crops.
