Penang lemon basil is a variety of basil from Thailand. Lemon basil in Thailand is called as Thai Hoary basil. This variety is suitable for humid and warm weather conditions. The plants are strong and produce 2" long pointed soft pale-green leaves. Its lemon fragrance fits well with a variety of Asian dishes that use fish and poultry. It is used in cooking to intensify flavors, rather than eaten raw.
