This is a very popular "baby-sized" or one-serving kabocha winter squash. The skin color is cream color with dark green stripes and is very striking in appearance. The flesh is light yellow, with a smooth texture and sweet delicate flavor. The small squash is deep lobed and ribbed shape and grows to a diameter and height of 4", and weighs approximately ½ pound. Chefs in Japan find the sweet dumpling a perfect kabocha for stuffing with meats and baked, or used in soups.
