This hybrid variety is a popular daikon in Japan. The white root has a green shoulder, grows to 15" long and can weigh over 1 1/2 lbs. This variety has very late pithiness and excellent slow bolting characteristics. It is sown in winter for spring harvest. It has a high resistance to fusarium wilt.

Cultivation: Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in late summer/fall in a sunny location. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Optimum growing temperature is between 62-70°F.

Culinary tips: Use in soup, salad, pickle or fresh. Daikon oroshi (coarsely grated daikon using a Japanese grater) is delicious in sauces used for soba noodles, tempura and sashimi.
