This is a specialty large leaf perilla, kkaennip, from Korea. The larger leaves are two-toned, bright green on top and light purple underneath. In Korean cuisine, the leaves are used as a wrap for cooked food. Use this distinct flavored herb for sushi, soups, salad, tempura or as an edible garnish. It is available only as treated seed.
