An open pollinated variety from Malaysia, this Chinese bitter melon produces medium sized fruit 6"-8" long. The light green skin of this melon is smooth with large smooth warts. The leaves and leafy shoots of the Green Skin are edible, along with the melons, which grow increasingly bitter as they mature. Young melons are excellent in soups with pork and black beans, and mature melons are a tasty addition to a stir-fry. Try them stuffed with pork or seafood or cooked with fermented black beans.
