This light green, oval-shaped melon, "oshiro uri", is very popular in Japan and is used for pickling. The fruit can reach 14" long and has crisp white flesh. Excellent for pickling, these melons can also be stuffed, stir-fried with meat, chicken or vegetables or eaten raw.
