Cultivation: Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in spring/summer after last frost in a warm, sunny location. Or start seeds indoors and transplant when weather permits. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Train to climb a vertical support for better air circulation, straighter fruits and ease of harvest.

Culinary tips: Used for pickling or salads. Cut cubes of very ripe cucumbers and add to soup. Sooyow varieties are choice for pickling because of their crisp texture and small seed cavity.
